DELTA COASTAL SELECTS ANNOUNCES 2008 INTAKE COACHES

DCS Announces U13 Intake Coaches for the 2008 born Metro Selects League season starting September 2020

Delta Coastal Selects is pleased to announce the appointments of Kevan Cornes as Head Coach of the 2008 born DCS Girls Intake team and Brad Armitage as Head Coach of the 2008 born DCS Boys Intake team. Both coaches will immediately begin working on collaboration with the BCSPL coaches to conduct a thorough four month scouting process ahead of the formal player evaluations in February 2020. The substantial scouting process will allow Kevan and Brad the opportunity to engage in discussions with partner club Technical Directors, BCSPL 2008 Intake Coaches, current U12 Club Coaches, along with game day scouting and other potential scouting platforms.

Delta Coastal Selects is pleased to secure the continued coaching support of Kevan Cornes. Kevan played soccer for over twenty years at various levels in both the U.K and Alberta. He has been coaching with various female teams at Delta Coastal Selects since the clubs formation in 2012. Previous to working with DCS Kevan was a member of SurDel Girls Soccer as a coach and a member of their Technical staff for player selection and development. Kevan always provides a strong soccer program for the players to grow and learn in while ensuring they are having a fun time. He is looking forward to working with the BCSPL 2008 Intake Coach as well as all of the partner club coaches currently in U-12 and getting to know the players.

DCS is also thrilled to welcome Brad Armitage to our program. Brad’s coaching philosophy is that of ensuring that the players have fun and hustle, while always developing their talent. He strives to take them outside of their comfort zone through solid training sessions, different positions and educating not only their skill set but developing their mental attributes as well. With his soccer knowledge and passion for the game, he always looks to advance his players to the next level of play. Brad has been coaching in the boys program for over 12 years at many levels of play including Club, Development and Metro.

Mark Rogers, Program Director of Delta Coastal Selects said “We are very pleased to welcome both Brad and Kevan to the DCS program. Both Brad and Kevan have a lot of experience coaching soccer locally. Kevan has been a part of the DCS program for a number of years now while Brad has coached the 08 boys at Coastal and thus is very familiar with the age group. We are very excited to have them both involved with the program and are looking forward to their involvement beginning with the 2020/2021 season.”
