South Delta United, Coastal FC and North Delta FC continue to collaborate in the growth and development of Delta Coastal Selects.
The Delta Coastal Selects’ teams participates in the Metro Select League (“MSL”), which organizes and operates competitive boys’ and girls’ leagues for the second highest level of play for youth soccer in B.C., the EA Sports BC Soccer Premier League “BCSPL” being the top level.
Consistent with BC Soccer’s Mission “to continue to be committed to a comprehensive approach to improve player development in B.C.”, the purpose of the Delta Coastal Selects (“DSC”) program is to create a professional environment and framework which players within DSC regional partnership can be afforded a stronger linkage with the BCSPL.
Delta Coastal Selects will:
- provide MSL players with the opportunity for cross‐training between MSL and BCSPL teams.
- create better visibility of MSL players towards their potential progression to an BCSPL team.
- be able to leverage the infrastructure and resources of its partner clubs.
In short, the DCS program is meant to create a clear and professional player development pathway from club-level soccer to the MSL level, ultimately leading to players advancing to the BCSPL.
Leading this new enhanced regional program are key individuals from South Delta United Soccer Club, Coastal FC and North Delta FC with administrative oversight provided by representatives of all of the DCS clubs.
Jon Rogers oversees as the Technical Director of the DCS program and Gabriel Cotolan is the DCS Staff Support Coach.
