A tremendous start to the season for the U-13 DCS Girls at the SX Cup!

A tremendous start to the 2015/2016 season for the U-13 DCS Girls at the SX Cup! The team went 3-0 through round robin play, all three games were very hard fought, close games, with the team allowing only one goal against, with Emily  recording two shut outs.

2015-Sept-U13GirlsIn the semi final played very early on Monday morning, the girls controlled most of the game vs. Vancouver United and finished the game 3-1 winners.

In the final vs. Surrey FC Pegasus, the girls defended very well, holding off the very strong League rival for most of the contest.  But the girls seemed to run out of gas near the end of the game, and conceded a late goal on a goalmouth scramble.

It was a fantastic weekend for this first year metro select team, who now move onto their first metro season together, hosting that same SFC Pegasus team in their first league game.

U17 DCS Sting Girls Take Gold at Umbro Beach Blast!

The girls got their season off to an early start with some creative soccer and fun down in the sand at Jericho Beach in the Umbro Beach Blast.

Sept2015-U17Girls-300Over the weekend the girls dropped just one of their three round robin matches to Fusions Premier League team 2-0 and got into the semi finals only to play them once again. With the Sting down 2-0 at half it looked as though they were destined for the Bronze medal match but the players dug deep and came back with three unanswered goals in a thrilling contest to get to the final. With the team limping into the final match with only one sub left they pulled off another huge win against Coquitlam’s U-18 team, 2-0, to take Gold. Fantastic efforts by Nicole (thanks Darrell for loaning out your keeper), Meghan, Ravneet, Taylor, McKenna, Sami, Caitlin, Evalyn & Kylie saw DCS take the U-18 Division.

Congrats Ladies on a great weekend of soccer!
