The U-16 DCS Sting Girls team took Silver at the recent 62nd Annual Coastal Cup Final in Aldergrove. The 2014/15 season was a challenging one for the players with an inordinate amount of injuries to start off (including losing both of their keepers for the entire season!). That said though, this is a very resilient group of players and they just got down to working hard in training and getting positive results in their games.
In their four years of eligibility this was the DCS Sting teams third Coastal Cup final appearance and they are also proud to be heading off to their second Provincial Championships to be hosted in South Surrey from July 9 – 12.
The players are taking a very well deserved break off for the month of May before returning to the training grounds in June to prepare for what will be a very tough Provincial Championship series.
The girls want to thank the DCS club for their support this season as well as their rabble of travelling fans and hope for a good turnout to cheer all the DCS teams on in July.
The 1997 born girls have just wrapped up their youth soccer careers with a tournament victory in Kamloops.
This talented group have won Provincial Gold and Silver the two preceding years and have four league championships to their credit.
The U18s have several players continuing their soccer careers while attending University and College in the fall.
Good luck in the future ladies – you’ve always represented the DCS crest with toughness and pride.

The Delta Coastal Selects U15 DCS boys have had an amazing season with 13W – 4T – 2L. Although the boys posted impressive seasonal stats, they experienced an unexpected and difficult loss in the final league game to Surrey Guildford United. The boys however did not give up, in turn this provided the drive, determination, emotion and fuel required to win the next four games leading up to Saturday’s solid team win. A big shout out to the boys for winning the 62nd Coastal Club Championship hosted by the British Columbia Soccer Association, the Coastal Youth Soccer Leagues & Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club. The DCS U15 boys soundly captured the cup final 4 – 0 against the U15 CCB Eagles.
Next steps for the boys … we are on a very short three-week break, before re-entering training in preparation for BC Soccer Provincials (July 9-12). Here they will proudly represent the Delta Coastal Selects Club in the Four Team Round Robin Provincial A Cup @ south Surrey Athletic Park hosted by Coastal FC. We wish our boys all the best as they approach provincials.
