U16 DCS Sting Girls in the Spotlight!

June2015-U16Girls-spotlight-300DCS was represented at the recent Pacific Soccer Coaching Conference at the Fortius Sports Centre in Burnaby as the players were put through their paces. Coaches from across North America were on hand to participate in the conference and see some on field demonstrations and that is where DCS came in.

The players first session was run by Ron Smith, former Technical Director of the Australian National team, who kept the players on their toes in a “Developing Good Habits in Players” course. Ron is seen here in the pictures explaining the drills and walking them thru the opening session.

June2015-U16Girls-spotlight1-300The second session was lead by Dick Bate, FIFA Technical Director, on “Developing Possession”. Dick Bate has managed England’s U-17 to U-20 program over the years so this was a real treat to have the DCS players instructed by a very influential and knowledgeable coach. Dick put the players through some very challenging drills but, as he told the coaches in attendance, he was most impressed with the DCS players and how they handled these drills.

Hats off to the players who had hundreds of eyes on them in the broiling heat but it was another memorable experience for them.
